Lora Garcelon,Watermedia Artist

             Lora Garcelon was raised in Worthington, Ohio, where she began painting while in high school. She attended the Ohio State University, graduating in

1991 with a degree from the College of Pharmacy.  In 2005, she started painting again, taking lessons with Mark Mehaffey of Williamston, MI. She has also taken several painting workshops with various portrait painters and watercolorists. She is a member of National Watercolor Society, Brighton Art Guild, and a signature member of Michigan Watercolor Society. Her work is on display at Blue Heron Gallery of Elk Rapids, MI and Studio West Gallery in Brighton, MI.  Lora was awarded Artist of the Year for Livingston Fine Art Association and has won several awards for her paintings including “Best of Show” for Mid Michigan Art Guild’s winter show,  a blue ribbon in Brighton Art Guild’s Kaleidoscope and Art Harvest shows, Michigan Watercolor Society Founder’s Memorial Award 2013, and a finalist in Howell Art Project in 2016 and 2017.
